Hip Hop Dance
Hip Hop dancing began in New York city in 1960's and 70's. At this time people without professional dance training but with a zeal and passion for dance, brought a new way of dancing on the streets. It was basically a dance form only meant to be known to people but not official for the academy, hip hop moves were inspired by hard rhythms and the down-to-earth movement style of African dancing.
Ballet
Ballet originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th and 16th centuries before being spread from Italy to France by an Italian aristocrat, Catherine de' Medici, who became Queen of France.

Contemporary Dance
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers tries to depict their emotions and to connect the mind and the body through dance movements.
Jazz Dance
Jazz dance remains very popular from 1930's and 40's. Usually the slaves were asked to do to keep them fit. While it does incorporate some classical moves, its fast pace, high level of improvisation, and upbeat music keep it a favorite among students.
Classical Dance
Mostly an Indian originated form of dancing. Few forms of classical dance includes Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali, Sattriya, Manipuri and Mohiniyattam.
